History Of Motor Fuel & Stores

Begins all the way back in 1930, the proprietor, late B. Gupta, started this company as a fleet of trucks and vans delivering the royal mail. He was holding a Royal Warrant from his Majesty, King George VI, and operated over 80 trucks and vans.

The second generation, his son S. Gupta, took over running the company. After the Royal Warrant was withdrawn in 1947. Since then, Motor Fuel and Stores operated as a retail outlet of petrol, diesel, lubricants, etc, at 17 Beodon Street, as a channel partner of Standard Vacuum Oil, with premises at 16/2A Beacon Street and 24 Bethune Row.

Motor Fuel and Stores became a private limited company from a sole proprietorship and took additional premises at 152A Sarat Bose Road.

The 3rd generation D. Gupta, grandson of B. Gupta, along with his mother, Mrs. Sabita Gupta, took the reins in 1981.

In 2010, Motor Fuel and Stores, in a new venture, became a Tata Motors authorized service centre at 16/2A Beadon Street. In 2024 the Tata Motors authorized service centre was expanded to include a fully equipped modern body shop.

Currently, Motor Fuel and Stores Pvt. Ltd. operates petrol, diesel, and lubricant retail outlets at 17 Beadon Street and 152A Sarat Bose Road. The Tata Motors passenger vehicle service centre is operating at 16/2A beadon street and 24 Bethune Row Kolkata.

Mr. Debajit Gupta is Managing Director & Mrs. Piali Gupta is the director. The 4th generation family member Ms. Raka Gupta has recently joined as Additional director.
